Ironman connected fitness
Connected Fitness is an immersive training app that combines IRONMAN’s proprietary content library with branded workouts, routines, and training profiles to give IRONMAN athletes everything they need to learn courses, develop regimes, and prepare for race day.
The app is meant to be synced with a stationary bike so that athletes can get real time feedback on their training performance.
I lead UX design on this project alongside a Strategy Director and a team of Visual Designers.

User Experience
Sitemap
Connected Fitness combines real course videos, race notes from actual trainers, hand-curated training regimes, and user generated group rides to provide athletes with the maximum amount of information they need to feel confident while preparing.
Homepage
The landing page allows users to see leaderboards, other athletes’ activity, find group rides to participate in, and quickly launch into a suggested workout or training video.
Courses
The Course page lets athletes search through a catalogue of IRONMAN Races, and the individual cycling courses that make up those races. Using a list or map view, athletes can filter, sort, search, and find specific courses that meet their preferences and training requirements.
Course Details
Each IRONMAN Race has it’s own page that provides an overview of the course map, archival footage from previous years, unique training programs, and preparation checklists.
Riding a Course
Once an athlete has found a course they want to ride, they are able to add a workout profile on top of that segment and configure their personal settings. During the ride, they are shown leaderboards, the segment map, and are given customized notes about their performance.
A post-ride screen gives them a statistical breakdown of their exercise and includes all the notes they received along the route.
